Pichelmann News

The Master Builder Associate held their annual apprentice awards at which two of our apprentices picked up major awards! Jack took out the top gong of Apprentice of the Year, and Emmi won the inaugural  Frank Arsego Mental Health and Wellbeing Award. These awards are a just reflection of Jack and Emmi’s approach to everything they do, in particular the commitment they have shown to their apprenticeship. Well done!

The annual awards for the Master builder Association were held at the beginning of the month with our team up for 6 awards. We were privileged enough to come away winning four of those awards, being

  •  Kitchen project $60k to $100k -  Tennyson Crescent renovation project
  • Bathroom project over $50k -  -  Tennyson Crescent renovation project
  • Renovation project over $1mil – Tennyson Crescent renovation project
  • Best use of materials (concrete) – Dugan Street project.

Beyond that, we were lucky enough to be voted people choice award for the landscaping and outdoor works at our Tennyson Crescent project, and we were awarded a judges commendation for our Dugan St project in the Custom Built Home $2mil to $4mil category.

As always it was a fantastic night put on by the MBA and a fabulous way to recognise all the hard work of our team and all those who strive for the best they can in the construction industry.”

Late last year the Pichelmann team welcomed Ben Leeson on board as a foreman for Pichelmann Maintenance & Minor works.

The rapid success and growth of the PM&MW venture put us in the position to find someone with Ben’s expertise and experience to work with Steve and the rest of the crew to continue to deliver the level of service synonymous with Pichelmann on an ever-growing range of projects, in a market that we greatly underestimated.

Ben, a Queanbeyan local, grew up in the Canberra region and did his carpentry trade for a local high end builder, before venturing out on his own as Leeson Carpentry Service. Here he gained valuable experience in running a business, dealing with customers and being solely responsible for delivering quality outcomes. This also gave him a good foundation in smaller projects such as kitchen and bathroom renovations, outdoor spaces, water leak remediation work and he worked along side some of our favourite suppliers such Thors Hammer. Welcome to the Team Ben!

The HIA held the industry awards for the ACT and surrounding region at parliament house on the 5th November, the Pichelmann team was fortunate enough to attend with 2 of our projects nominated for awards in a number of categories.

With such high standards on show from all the entrants, we went with measured optimism, hoping that the high standards we hold for ourselves would be recognised by the judging team.

We found ourselves very privileged to have been awarded a number of awards for our Tennyson Crs project; New Kitchen of the Year, Kitchen of the Year, and Bathroom of the Year – a wonderful result!

We also received a commendation for our Tennyson crs project in the Custom Built Home $3mil+ category, and a commendation for our Dugan St Project in the Custom Built Home $1.5mil to $3mil category.

Thanks must go to all involved in the project including our amazing client, and of cause to the HIA for a wonderful night, and for all they do for our industry

The team at Pichelmann would like to congratulate A&P Leemhuis Builders for hosting an amazing charity night to raise funds for Hands Across Canberra.

Your hard work and vision made for an impressively successful event.

Eugene and I had a wonderful evening thanks to the invite from Wayne ( All type electrical ) to join his table.

We appreciated the opportunity to join in the fund raising for such an amazing organisation.

A quick photo opportunity with Shane Jacobson was one of the many delights of the evening.
