Neil and I had a wonderful experience working with Pichelmann Custom Building on the extension and renovation of our home in Canberra. People often talk about what a stressful experience renovations can be, however we can honestly say that our experience was lots of fun and thoroughly enjoyable.

The works consisted of the demolition of the front part of our home, and the construction of a new lounge, kitchen, living, master bedroom and ensuite, a studio space with kitchenette and bathroom and garage.

The relationship with Pichelmann Custom Building started with establishing a wonderful rapport with the owner Parry.  Parry invested a lot of time in getting to know us and therefore understanding the aspects that were most important to us when building our home. He embraced the fact that we are both quite particular and was happy to show us his companies exacting standards through the beautiful reference homes that he showed us.  

Over the months that we spent getting to know Parry, he made some great suggestions that we then ended up incorporating into the final design of the house.  Between Parry, ourselves and our architects Kristina and Ben from Two Form Architecture + Interior Design, we collaborated on a design which we are very happy with as it really suits how we operate as a family.

For the first few months of the project Neil and I worked really closely with the team on site.  We were never made to feel like we were in the way and we enjoyed being involved in the whole process. The team on site, were led by Tom Argaet.  Tom’s positive energy and enthusiasm is contagious and the team who built our home were friendly and professional and simply lovely people to be around.  Tom kept us well informed and up to date with any site issues and always came forward with a solution rather than a problem. 

Care, thought and precision were focused on throughout the project.  In particular, the tiling in both of the ensuite bathrooms, the cantilever structure, use of quality materials and square set wall/ceiling junctions, were exceptional. The quality of the work is of a very high standard and the time and effort put in by the Pichelmann team is evident.

We are thrilled with the outcome and really enjoy spending time in our new space.

We have and will continue to recommend Pichelmann Custom Building to many people and would not hesitate to work together again in the future.
